I think I left my brain in Portland

I'm having one of those weeks where I really don't feel like doing shit.  I want to sleep, watch TV, eat bon bons, and basically be a lazy ass.

Of course, what I want to do and what I'm actually doing are two different things.  I'm writing (I've written a respectable 7k words in the past 3 days, putting me at close to 68k for the WIP).  I'm blogging.  I'm reading.  I'm keeping the house clean.  I'm even shopping (I bought the cutest shoes yesterday).  But I feel like I'm doing it all on auto-pilot.

Do you ever feel like you're on auto-pilot?  Or is it just me?  All the coffee in the world can't seem to snap me out of it.

Somebody slap me.

(Ooh... Joann is blogging about cheating and unfaithfulness at Killer Chicks today.  That might wake me up!  See you over there.)

  1. You are rockin' that WIP! I wish I had written a respectable 7k. I even chased a shiny new idea for three pages and didn't hit that many. But I know how you feel. I love the rain, but felt my brain cells falling onto the ceiling with it, running down the gutter and into the puddle in the middle of my yard. I have a TON of Unsolved Mysteries on TiVo so guess what I did when I got home from teaching today? I've seen all these eps more than once, but something about it just sucks me in. Great rainy day watching!

  2. Oh yeah, totally feel that way every now and then! I was recently in a "no-reading" funk while revising my MS and it had me all out of whack! I just couldn't get into anything, THANK GOODNESS that stage passed!

  3. Good for you for getting in those 7k! I tend to go thru periods of frustration/laziness and extreme productivity.

  4. Autopilot happens to me when I get crispy from too much work and no time off ("all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" hehehe). Lately I've taken up playing an xbox zombie game with hubby for 30 minutes a night, which is actually helping to keep me refreshed. Good for you to push through and achieve 7k words in 3 days. Not too shabby!

  5. Crispy. Good word. I am definitely fried these days. I might have to get my own zombie game.

Hey, wait, we have one... OH, STEVE!
