Happy Halloween! Oh, and I'm at Chatelaine.com today...

It's no secret I love Halloween. I love Halloween so much I'm being interviewed about it over at Chatelaine.com today. CLICK HERE TO GO THERE.

Life has been crazy lately. Between finishing up FREAK (which is very nearly done – I'm hoping to hand it in to my Gallery editor this week), and some very major stuff coming up in my personal life (which I'll eventually tell you about, but not today), I really don't know where October went. And I don't think life will be slowing down anytime soon.

Here's a summary of what's coming up in the next few months:
  • CREEP is coming out in paperback through Little Brown UK/Sphere this December 2011 (and will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and other export territories)
  • The mass market US version of CREEP will be released in July 2012
  • FREAK is coming out in hardcover in the summer of 2012
  • I just found out this morning that we sold the Czech rights to CREEP
  • My Canadian launch party for CREEP is next week in Toronto!

I won't be doing NaNo this year... but I'll be rooting for everybody who is! Are you participating?

Happy Halloween!

  5. Happy Halloween!

No NaNo for me. I'm too slow to keep up with the big dogs. I'll just stay on my porch and scribble a few pages while I cheer everyone else on with their mad writings.

    Yay for Freak. :)

  6. No NaNo for me; I'm still cautiously outlining a thing, and I don't want to rush it. Love how Creep is taking on the world in the next few months, and congrats on very nearly finishing Freak!

  14. Congratulations on all your awesome news. And I'm totally curious about the news you're holding until eventually. I hope it's good news.

I made the decision to bow out of NaNo this year. Too much work is left on this WIP and I don't want to split my focus. But it's sooo hard. I was really looking forward to writing this new book. Maybe in December.

  15. I'm so happy FREAK is coming out in the summer. That means I don't have to wait very long! Yay! Very exciting news, all around. No NaNo for me this year, I just finished draft one of my WIP and will be spending November putting it together for a round of critiquing before it goes to my agent.

  17. Great interview! This news is just fantastic. Paperback, hardcover, foreign rights. You just go girl!!!

And I want to know the "other" news right now. I hate suspense. It just kills me.

  20. Launch party? I wish I could come! Congrats on the neverending success of Creep!

(*hey, question. Is the third book going to be a one syllable, 5-letter title too?*)

  21. Happy Post-Halloween! Halloween was great this year, I was with friends all day and then watched 'scary' movies in the evening. Not really scary at all. By which I mean Clue (which isn't scary by any stretch of the imagination, but it one of the most clever movies I've seen in my life) and Scream, which wasn't scary for me or a couple of my friends, but WAS scary for the two who never watch scary movies. They didn't know the tropes, and fell right into Scream's trap! :)
And congratulations on things moving forward so well with CREEP! :) It sounds like it'll be fantastic!

  22. I'm crazy so I jumped right in to NaNo. I'm up late trying to finish the last 100 words (I set a 2,000 words per day goal)...which is why I'm posting on your blog. I can count this in my word count, right? I'm so excited for FREAK!!

  23. Czech Creep? That is cool! No NaNo for me; I have 9 more weeks of Write1Sub1... =]

  24. No NaNo for me either. I'm plotting and outlining my 3rd book while the other two "simmer" away on the shelf.

Hurray for all your success with Creep! :)
